Natural Health Courses School

Acupressure

A Diploma Correspondence Course of 12 Lessons.

Home study is the modern, flexible way to learn holistic medicine. No attendance is necessary.

All courses are conducted by distance learning.

This course leads to a Practitioner/Therapist Level Qualification.

Acupressure

Acupressure is the application of pressure to the body to enhance the flow of energy (variously referred to as 'Ki', 'Chi' or 'Prana')

in the 12 meridians, according to the principles of Oriental medicine. It is widely practised in China where more emphasis is given

to a person's responsibility for their own health than it is in the West, and is often used as a self-help treatment.

Acupressure is believed to be the 'Mother of Acupuncture', in that it predates the use of needles to stimulate the body's energy flow.

It has the same principles as Acupuncture, but the pressure is applied directly to the Acupoints of the body mainly by using the hands,

fingers, thumbs or knuckles. Stimulation of the body's meridian system by touch is perhaps one of the oldest healing systems.

Subjects included in the Course:

  • Fingertip Medicine
  • Stimulation Methods
  • Relaxation Techniques
  • Matching the Trigger Points to the symptom/ailment
  • Acupressure Techniques, Effleurage, Tapotment, Petrissage

Students obtaining 80% average pass marks will be awarded an accredited SNHS Diploma entitling them to practise.

Acupressure Course Feedback

Dear Julia

Thank you very much.  I have thoroughly enjoyed your Acupressure course and, as with all the subjects I am studying with SNHS,

I am impressed by the exercises you provide with each module.  They are so well structured in the way that they cross-reference

various precepts to maximise comprehension, and retention of vital information.  It is not easy to gauge the progress of students

at a distance, but you have found an effective way of achieving this necessary goal.

My best wishes to you and all the staff for a joyful festive season and a peaceful New Year.

Best wishes
