Finding the SNHS was a very fortunate discovery for me.
I started training initially in Beauty Therapy 38 years ago. Since then I have spent my time progressing, upgrading and diversifying my range of skills in related therapies. These have included Reflexology, Reiki 1 and 2, Kinesiology, Indian Head massage, and Scientific Aromatherapy.
Then I took a two year course in Chiropody and qualified in 2002. I was looking for a course in Iridology when I came across the SNHS on line. I was impressed with what they were doing and registered for the course. On completing this very well structured course, I was eager to do others. Diabetic Risk Assessment seemed a logical choice having studied it in depth for Chiropody, I thought it a good addendum.
Advanced Reflexology was my next choice. I had done a course in basic reflexology in 1970, before it got trendy! This was an excellently devised course, and I was filled with renewed enthusiasm for the treatment, which is much in demand in my salon.
I began to get interested in Hypnotherapy through a friend and practitioner. I registered for the basic course and was immediately hooked. It was the most fascinating course to date. I soon realised that I wanted to do this professionally.
Having completed the basic course, I went head long into Advanced Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy and Counselling running together. It was hard work but I loved doing it.
On completing the course I wanted to do the practical Workshop. I went to Colchester to The Trinity Centre where I met the man who had written the course for the School of Natural Health Sciences (SNHS Ltd), Tony Edwards, he was to be my tutor.
I went with great trepidation for this practical day. Its one thing doing theory but now I had to prove that I was competent to be a practitioner. Tony is a gifted tutor who put me at my ease immediately. By the end of the day you will be competent he said, I was not convinced! Tony put me through my paces and by the end of the day he was right. I did feel amazingly confident, and went home thinking I can do this!
That was September 08 - I wanted to build up my new confidence slowly so I worked on a few friends first, they were impressed.
I started advertising in January 2009 and have had complete success with the clients I have helped to date.
All thanks to the School of Natural Health Sciences and Tony Edwards whom I cannot thank enough.
