I’ve always been interested in nature and health since I was a child, at age 18 I did a couple of evening courses in aromatherapy and massage and started to make my own skincare products at home.  Several years later and after a lot of messy experimentation I started to feel that this could be my vocation. I thought about setting up my own business selling my skincare potions but I was afraid to take the plunge, so I bimbled along making stuff for myself and friends and wishing that I could do this as my paid job.

Fast forward several years to 2005 and there I was working in yet another dull telesales job still wishing for my ‘lucky break’ when I suddenly realised (with help from my boss who wondered why I was working for her!) that I just had to ‘feel the fear and do it anyway’.  So after searching for courses on the Internet I came across the School of Natural Health Sciences and immediately liked what I saw. I enrolled for the specialist course packages for Aromatherapy and Nutrition and also started Sports Nutrition too. I started to teach workshops and found that, after the initial fear, I and every one else thoroughly enjoyed them. I have taught at least 20 workshops this year. I have also started my ‘bespoke-potion’ service where I make skincare products to order for individuals. My own range of eco-skincare recipe booklets has also just been launched with immediate success and I have also introduced a ‘Skin-Health consultation service’ in order to treat skin problems with natural potions and nutrition.

My policy for 'Flowr’d Up' is that all potions are handmade by me and are 100% natural and vegetarian (and can be made vegan) with most ingredients also being certified organic and fair-trade. Flowr’d Up is an ethical practice that is committed to re-using and recycling and being kind to the Earth. Flowr’d Up’s motto is “Beauty without costing the Earth”

Everyday I get uplifting and positive emails from people who’ve seen my columns in magazines or who I’ve helped via email. I love hearing from people, it really makes my day!   I am now having a beautiful website built for me which will be up and running soon. I will then be able to reach and help more people.

So what’s next? Well I have approached a publisher about a Natural Beauty book that I’m writing and they are interested in publishing it. I am also writing and submitting a proposal to design a course on making Natural Beauty products for our very own dear SNHS - The School of Natural Health Sciences. Hope they like it.  Fingers crossed.

With the SNHS diplomas in Nutrition and Aromatherapy Theory proudly completed, I’m concentrating on the advanced versions and the Sports Nutrition diploma. I’m very excited to say that I’ve also been accepted to study Naturopathic Nutrition. Once I’ve finished my present studies I plan to do the SNHS diplomas in Herbal Medicine and then go for the prestigious Higher International Diploma in Naturopathy, and maybe a few others (there’s just so many excellent and interesting courses to choose from!!).  SNHS has helped me get on the path to my dreams and I am more than happy to recommend them as a provider of home study Natural Health Diploma Courses.
