I started studying with The School of Natural Health Sciences in 2004 whilst employed as a Dental Practice Manager. My intention was to add new skills to my Stress Management Consultant qualifications to enable me to take a more holistic approach to my work. So far I have completed the Nutrition, Professional Relaxation Therapy and Colour Therapy courses and busy working on several more!
Last year I qualified as a Women’s Stress Practitioner and this is an area I really enjoy specialising in. Having experienced the stress of running my own business in the past, major surgery, menopause, redundancy and being a carer for 5 years, I feel that I can bring quite a lot of life experience to that area!
After going into partnership with someone else for a couple of years, I decided to fly solo and set up Ametrine Natural Health on a part time basis in 2008. As I am no longer a carer for my late father, I am developing the business as part of Ametrine Solutions, looking after your health and your wealth.
I became an Independent Herbalife Distributor selling their fantastic nutritional products (health) and I am currently recruiting Wellness Coaches within this business (wealth). Joining Herbalife has given me the opportunity to help so many people with their weight loss issues, improve sports performance and their general health. I have also been able to call on my 30 years of administration and business skills to help coach my team members.
Alongside this I am still developing “The Balancing Zone” part of Ametrine. This will be a resource facility with different zones, i.e. relaxation zone, health zone, clutter zone, stress zone etc. Each zone will offer tips and downloadable e-books, courses and relevant products.
I am also the joint Network Leader of the York Women in Rural Enterprise Network Group, after initially starting the group on my own in 2005/6. I will also become the Host for The Women’s Business Clubs in York from September.
I am so pleased to have found the SHNS courses as they are not only enjoyable to do, affordable and well designed but also have been very flexible for me whilst being a carer.
